US's Suniva Raises $835 Million to Build 4.5 GW PERC Plant in South Carolina

US cell maker Suniva raised $835 million in debt and equity from Lion Point Capital, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, I Squared Capital and others to build a 4.5 GW PERC cell plant in Laurens County, South Carolina, taking its total US capacity to 5.5 GW. The $600 million project will create 564 jobs, complete by June 2027 and fully ramp by 2028, with majority output tied to offtake deals with leading US solar firms.
