The Union Budget 2026 retained the National Green Hydrogen Mission allocation at ₹600 crore for FY2026–27, matching previous budget estimates but exceeding revised FY2025–26 levels. Funds will continue supporting pilot projects, electrolyser manufacturing, demand incentives and R&D. The allocation reinforces green hydrogen’s role in decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors and advancing India’s ambitions to become a global production and export hub, alongside renewable energy expansion, PLI schemes, infrastructure support and long-term climate and energy security objectives.
