Tesla is reportedly in talks with Chinese suppliers to procure ~$2.9 billion worth of equipment for PV cell and module manufacturing in the US. The planned shipments, subject to export approvals, are expected to be delivered to Texas before autumn. The move aligns with Tesla’s ambition to build up to 100 GW of solar manufacturing capacity in the US by 2028.
