Newave Energia, a JV between Newave Capital and Gerdau, has begun construction of the 452 MW Barro Alto solar plant in Goiás. Backed by ~BRL 1.3 billion in investment, the project is set to be operational in 2026. It will power around 365,000 people, with energy partly supplied to Gerdau and the rest sold in the free market.
