Ghana has initiated the procurement of 200 MW of battery energy storage systems (BESS) to enhance grid stability and reduce reliance on costly thermal power. The project will be awarded through competitive bidding and integrated with the country’s expanding solar capacity. It supports Ghana’s goals of 99% electrification by 2030 and increasing renewable energy share.
