India Eyes 49% Foreign Investment in Nuclear Sector

India is considering allowing up to 49% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in its Nuclear Energy Sector, with phased implementation. Initially, FDI could be capped at 26%, increasing after a review. The government aims to boost Nuclear Energy capacity to 40 GW by 2035. Amendments to the Atomic Energy Act and the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Act are planned to facilitate private sector entry.
