Price Gap with Grey Hydrogen May Slow Green Hydrogen Adoption in India: CRISIL Ratings

CRISIL Ratings has emphasized that green hydrogen prices need to drop by over 50% to compete with grey hydrogen, which remains significantly cheaper due to its reliance on fossil fuels. The cost gap, currently at $2.0-2.5 per kilogram, is expected to narrow to $1.0-1.5 per kilogram over the next three fiscal years, but this reduction is unlikely to achieve full competitiveness.
