The Union Cabinet on September 30, 2026 approved Rs 1,86,405 crore Green Energy Corridor Phase-III to evacuate 135 GW renewable power and deploy 50 GWh battery storage, targeting completion by FY 2032-33. Announced by Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the scheme earmarks Rs 1,36,378 crore for intra-state transmission strengthening and Rs 50,000 crore for storage, with Central assistance of Rs 54,082 crore.
