Budget 2024: Record Rs 10,000 Crore for Solar Grid Projects

The Budget 2024-25 earmarks Rs 10,000 crore for solar power grid projects, a 110% increase from FY 2024. This surge supports the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna, aiming to install 1 cr solar rooftop systems for free household electricity. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized green growth with incentives and schemes promoting faster energy transition, including household solarisation.
