BIS Unveils New Standards to Boost Electric Vehicle Safety and Quality

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) introduced two standards, IS 18590:2024 and IS 18606:2024, to improve electric vehicle safety and quality in India. These standards target EVs in the L, M, and N categories, including e-rickshaws and e-karts, focusing on powertrain and battery safety to ensure they meet stringent requirements and are both powerful and secure.
