News Insights

The Khavda RE park with a planned energy-generating capacity of 30GW needs an effective transmission network for energy and AESL’s investment will help develop a transmission line for this project. The transmission system has to be planned in advance as the gestation period of wind- and solar-based generation projects is shorter than that of the associated transmission system and this project will help evacuating 7GW of renewable energy and thus resulting in timely transmission of energy preventing losses. With more RE projects being developed in the country, it is necessary for the transmission infrastructure to fasten its pace and meet the demand for renewable energy in India. This project aligns with the government target of developing 51,000 ckt km of transmission line. This project opens opportunity for DISCOMs to procure power from Khavda RE park during peak demand through this transmission network.
