Renaissance Solar and Electronic Materials (RSOLEC), an Indo-US joint venture headquartered in Chennai, plans to invest ₹5,000 crore to set up a 5 GW solar ingot and wafer plant in Tumakuru, Karnataka. Industries Minister MB Patil said the company seeks 100 acres in the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, plus 80 MW power and 10 million litres of water daily.
