Rajasthan has received approval to establish a 4,000 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) under the Centre’s Viability Gap Funding scheme, with Rs 720 crore in central assistance. This is part of a nationwide plan supporting 30 GWh of battery storage, aiming to enhance grid stability by storing surplus Renewable Energy for peak demand.
