Government data showed that on June 9, the peak power demand was fulfilled or the maximum supply of energy reached an all-time high of 223.23 GW, demonstrating the decreasing impact of unseasonal rains on consumption. In April alone this summer, the electricity ministry predicted that the peak power consumption would easily reach 229 GW.
