Odisha’s state government has expressed willingness to implement the battery energy storage system (BESS) allocated under the viability gap funding (VGF) scheme to enhance grid stability. The Ministry of Power allocated 500 MWh to Odisha out of 16,500 MWh across 15 states. GRIDCO, the state’s renewable energy agency, plans to install BESS at four grid sub-stations in the first phase.
