French IPP Neoen has begun operations at its 270MW/540MWh Western Downs Battery in Queensland, Australia. Built by UGL with Tesla Megapacks, the project forms part of Neoen’s 460MWp Green Power Hub. Stage two, due in 2026, will boost capacity to 540MW/1,080MWh. Neoen signed a virtual battery deal with AGL and is supported by ARENA.
