Dubai-based AMEA Power has reached financial close on Egypt’s first utility-scale battery storage project—a 300 MWh facility in Aswan. Developed with the Egyptian government, it secured a $72 million investment from the World Bank’s IFC. The battery will integrate with the 500 MW Abydos PV farm, supporting Egypt’s 4 GW Emergency Renewable Energy Programme.
