The National Electricity Company (NEK) of Bulgaria has contracted Toshiba and Voith-ABB for the repair of Hydro Units 1 and 3 at the Chaira pumped storage hydropower plant. Toshiba will rehabilitate Unit 1, while Voith-ABB will handle Unit 3. The project, aimed at modernizing the largest pumped-storage plant in the Balkans, supports Bulgaria’s green energy goals.
