The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy revised guidelines for the 'Model Solar Village' under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, aiming to solarise one village per district by FY 2026-27. With a ₹800 crore budget, each selected village may receive ₹1 crore in aid, disbursed in three phases. Selection is based on renewable energy capacity installed during a six-month challenge.
