Meghalaya Cabinet has approved the Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2026 to promote clean mobility by offering a ₹25,000 incentive to EV buyers and waiving registration fees for electric cars. Similar benefits will apply to electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. The state, which already has over 5,000 EVs, plans to expand adoption through charging infrastructure support.
