Genesis Launches 117 MW Tihori Solar Farm as NZ Expands Renewable Energy Capacity

Genesis Energy has begun construction of the 117 MW Tihori Solar Farm in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty, a $195 million project expected to generate 238 GWh annually and power 30,000 homes. The project supports Genesis’ 500 MW solar pipeline and New Zealand’s net-zero 2050 goals. Meanwhile, construction of the 38 MW Omeheu Solar Farm is progressing, with over 50% of panels installed and commissioning expected by mid-2026.
