China’s Dongchu No. 1 underwater pumped storage system completed a 10-day trial at 65-meter depth, performing over 100 charge-discharge cycles. The test in Minhu Lake, Fujian, validated structural sealing, pressure control, mechanical durability, and bidirectional energy conversion for kilowatt-scale submerged storage.
