Korea brings new fireproof EV battery lasting 1000 cycles

South Korean scientists from DGIST have developed a LIB that retains 87% efficiency after 1,000 cycles and has fire-resistant properties. Comparing this to traditional LIB, this is a significant improvement as the former used to drop to 70-80% capacity within the same period. The key point of this innovation is a triple-layer solid polymer electrolyte ensuring safety and durability.
