The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) approved tariffs for NHPC-led 1200 MW solar with 600 MW/1200 MWh Energy Storage project in India, combining solar energy with advanced Energy Storage Systems (ESS) to provide firm, dispatchable renewable power. Initiated via competitive bidding, six companies won, with most opting for an additional 1,200 MW under the Greenshoe Option.
