State-owned PGE has launched a tender for a 400MW/800MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Dolna Odra Power Plant in Gryfino, Poland. This is the second large-scale BESS project, part of PGE’s plan to deploy 10GWh of new storage, raising total capacity to 17GWh by 2035. Both projects, expected by 2029, have secured 17-year capacity market contracts, ensuring long-term income.
