Canadian firm Brookfield and Malaysia’s Solarvest Holdings Bhd formed a joint venture to develop 1.5 GW of Solar and Battery Storage projects in Malaysia over three to five years. Solarvest will hold 51%, Brookfield 49%, via a special purpose vehicle. This marks Brookfield’s first Malaysian investment, backed by $1 billion from Altérra’s Catalytic Transition Fund.
