The Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) directed a Madhya Pradesh DISCOM to compensate JK Minerals for nearly two years of “free” solar power supplied to the grid. JK Minerals’ 1 MW plant was denied long-term open access (LTOA) despite the consumer confirming no additional load, leading to electricity injection without payment from August 2016 to May 2018.
