Apraava Energy secured ₹800.9 crore ($92 million) from BII and Standard Chartered to expand smart metering under India’s AMI programme. The loans, split nearly equally between both financiers, will fund installation of about two million smart meters across multiple states, supporting the government’s RDSS targeting 250 million meters by 2026.
