World's Largest Sodium-Ion BESS Goes Live in China
The world’s largest sodium-ion battery energy storage system in Qianjiang, China, has initiated operations with a 50MW/100MWh capacity, set to double to 100MW/200MWh. Developed by Datang Hubei Energy, it features 42 BESS containers with 185Ah batteries, 21 PCS units, and a 110kV booster station. China aims to bolster non-lithium storage technologies amid global supply concerns.
