LNG Import Bill Hits $1.1 Billion in June with 11% Uptick

India's LNG imports rose by 11% to 2,648 mmscm in June due to increased demand from gas-based power units. The country's natural gas consumption grew by 7%, reaching 5,594 mmscm, with the power sector driving much of this rise. The LNG import bill also saw a 10% increase to $1.1 billion. Power generation from gas-based plants surged by 62.5%, with demand growing due to heatwaves.
