News Insights

Integration of large amount of renewable energy into the grid presents the difficulty of maintaining grid supply and providing uninterrupted power supply and hence Indian government is planning to invite bids for grid scale ESS projects to bring down the variability in RE supply. Indigenous capability for manufacturing of BESS compatible with advanced chemistry cells will help meet the demand of domestic market which will result in decrease of import of IC engine vehicles and promote locally manufactured EVs and hybrid vehicles. This will create an ecosystem for BESS market in India and bring opportunity for BESS and advanced chemistry cell OEMs. The overall effort broadly contributes to promote RE power supply in India and reduce country’s carbon emission.
