England Lifts Ban: Onshore Wind Development Now Allowed

The UK government has lifted the ban on onshore wind in England to double capacity by 2030. Currently, the UK has 15GW of onshore wind capacity, mainly in Scotland. A key step towards net zero, the change removes previous planning obstacles and aligns onshore wind with other energy development. Further proposals aim to support renewable energy and empower local communities in decision-making.
