Engie Launches 200MW/800MWh BESS in Belgium

Engie launches a 200MW/800MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Vilvoorde, Belgium, with 320 units totaling 800MWh. Co-located with a CCGT plant, it starts construction July 5, commissioned in phases: 100MW by Sept 2025 and 100MW by Jan 2026. Belgium's active market boasts 3.6GW of BESS projects, enhancing its grid flexibility and energy trading capabilities.
