UPERC Approves Tariffs for 375 MW/1500 MWh BESS Project in Uttar Pradesh

UPERC has adopted competitively discovered tariffs for a 375 MW/1,500 MWh standalone battery energy storage project in Uttar Pradesh under the Viability Gap Funding scheme. It approved a ₹0.07/kWh trading margin for SJVN as implementing agency. The Commission ruled the bidding complied with Ministry of Power guidelines and the Electricity Act, 2003, cleared the 15-year BESSA with UPPCL, and directed timely completion to support effective peak load management across the state’s power system during demand peaks.
