The Union Cabinet approved an HCL-Foxconn Joint Venture to set up a ₹3,706 crore Semiconductor plant in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, to manufacture display driver chips. The facility will process 20,000 wafers monthly and generate around 2,000 jobs. It will be India’s sixth semiconductor unit, supporting the nation’s strategic push in chip manufacturing.
