Rajasthan plans 900 MW Rampura pumped storage project in Tonk to store surplus renewable energy and meet peak demand. The 5,400 MWh facility can supply 900 MW for six hours, using three 300 MW reversible pump-turbine units between upper and lower reservoirs. Located in Bisalpur Conservation Reserve, it requires statutory clearances and 90 km transmission to Phagi 400 kV substation.
