TOPCon Solar Cells Exhibit Light-Recoverable UV Degradation, Stable Real-World Output

Researchers from China’s Nanchang University, in collaboration with Trina Solar, found that TOPCon solar modules demonstrate “metastable resilience” under ultraviolet-induced degradation (UVID). Laboratory and field tests showed that while UV exposure temporarily reduces performance, light-induced recovery restores output, confirming stable real-world energy generation.
