Thailand's Cabinet has approved a draft regulation requiring crystalline silicon solar panels to comply with Thai Industrial Standard (TIS) for safety. The regulation, proposed by Ministry of Industry, aims to prevent electric shock, leakage, heat buildup and fire. Manufacturers/importers must obtain license under Industrial Product Standards Act, and distributors can only sell licensed TIS-compliant products.
