Tesla (U.S.) and LG Energy Solution (South Korea) are jointly investing $4.3 billion to establish an LFP battery cell manufacturing plant in Lansing, Michigan, with production expected by 2027. The facility is estimated to deliver ~50 GWh annual capacity, producing prismatic LFP cells primarily for Tesla’s Megapack energy storage systems.
