Uttar Pradesh Plans Five-Fold Expansion of EV Charging Stations Statewide

Uttar Pradesh, currently India's third-largest state for public EV charging with 238 operational stations, plans a five-fold increase by adding 1,000 new charging points. The energy department will focus on highways, expressways and industrial corridors to boost long-distance EV confidence. Under the UP EV Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022, the Yogi Adityanath government offers 20% capital subsidy — up to Rs 10 lakh per unit — for investment of Rs 25 lakh, for the first 2,000 stations.
