Norway’s Statkraft is providing market access and optimisation services for Thurrock Storage, a 300-MW/600-MWh battery energy storage system in Essex, now the UK’s largest operational BESS. Owned by Statera Energy, it powers 680,000 homes for two hours. Statkraft signed a long-term PPA in 2023, offering trading services and a revenue floor structure.
