Sri Lanka has invited international bids for a 250 MW/1,000 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to strengthen its power grid and accelerate renewable energy integration. The project will be developed on a Build, Own and Operate (BOO) basis across 25 grid substations, with successful bidders signing a 15-year Energy Storage Agreement.
