Sri Lanka and India will jointly develop 120 MW Solar Plants in Trincomalee

Sri Lanka and India have agreed to establish 120 MW Solar Power plants in Sampur, Trincomalee. The project will be executed in two phases: 50 MW in the first and 70 MW in the second. It will be a Joint Venture between the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and India’s NTPC. The Cabinet has approved the plan, with Trincomalee Power Company Ltd handling the 50 MW phase.
