Spain’s Ministry for Ecological Transition is providing €818.3 million to support 126 large-scale battery storage projects, boosting 9.4 GWh capacity and 2.2 GW power. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund, most projects involve co-located storage with solar or wind plants. The program targets regional development, favoring less developed areas, and complements previous NextGenEU funding.
