South Korea’s SK On has entered the U.S. battery energy storage system (BESS) market, signing a deal to supply up to 7.2GWh of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries to Flatiron Energy through 2030. Initial shipments begin in 2026 for a Massachusetts project. SK On will produce LFP batteries at its Georgia plant, with plans to expand U.
