SECI has allocated 1 GW/2 GWh of standalone Battery Energy Storage at an average price of $4,551.33/MW through a bidding process. JSW Neo Energy won 500 MW, and Reliance Power secured the remaining 500 MW. SECI will sign purchase agreements with the successful bidders, who will build and operate battery storage systems at chosen locations for various Indian buyers.
