RWE has secured federal environmental approval for its 1.1 GW Theodore wind farm project in Queensland, Australia. The AUD 3 billion project will feature up to 170 wind turbines and a battery energy storage system, generating enough electricity to power around 500,000 homes. Located in Banana Shire, construction is expected to begin in 2027, subject to final investment approval, and will create significant employment opportunities.
