Under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY), 16.78 lakh households have received rooftop solar installations, with over ₹9,280 crore disbursed as Central Financial Assistance. Launched in February 2024, the scheme aims to install rooftop solar in one crore households by 2026-27. The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy subsumed the earlier Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Programme Phase-II into PMSG: MBY to boost residential solar adoption nationwide.
