NTPC and EDF Power Solutions India, subsidiary of French utility EDF, signed a 50:50 joint venture on September 25 to develop, own and operate pumped storage, hydropower and other renewable projects and undertake distribution in India and neighbouring countries. Signed in presence of NTPC CMD Gurdeep Singh and EDF Chairman Bernard Fontana, the JV will also pursue low-carbon generation, flexibility solutions and transmission assets.
