KAIST and LG Energy Solution have developed a lithium-metal battery that achieves an 800 km driving range with a rapid 12-minute charge. This breakthrough uses a novel "cohesion-inhibiting" liquid electrolyte with a weak-binding anion structure that ensures uniform lithium deposition, effectively suppressing the growth of dangerous dendrites even during high-current charging.
